The Nutritionist’s Dilemma

So, I was out to dinner last night at a true southern rib
restaurant. There was not one healthy thing on the menu - even the vegetables
were covered in butter (and you couldn’t get them steamed because they were
already prepared). So, here was my dilemma. As a nutritionist, I should be able
to figure out some way to eat healthy at this restaurant. But, most of my tips
that I usually give for eating out didn’t work here. I ended up really just
watching my portion sizes, especially with the particularly fatty, unhealthy
foods. So, if you’re ever in this situation, remember that it shouldn’t be an
excuse to just eat everything. Watching your portion sizes can really help make
sure that your meal doesn’t end up being two days worth of calories and fat.
